Located in the heart of the Blue Ridge Mountains & just a stone's throw away from the French Broad River, you will find Asheville Waste Paper Company. Our recycling plant has been family owned and passed down from generation to generation since 1941. We value honesty, integrity and a hard day's work.

Carl McMahan is the man who began it all over 70 years ago, by noticing the large amounts of used cardboard and paper that were being taken to the dump while he was working for the City of Asheville as a garbage truck driver.  He started out as a one man operation- collecting cans and paper on the side of the roadways and began sorting these materials. Today Asheville Waste Paper has grown, expanded and is now the longest family owned recycling business in Asheville.

What started as a simple man trying to make a difference, has turned into a family owned and operated business that has lasted for generations & now services several surrounding states.
